Exterior Sleeves and Jackets
There are a wide variety of outside sleeves available from UHPI for lines and hoses.  Their benefits and applications are listed below.

LIGHT DUTY refers to a double layer of polyester mesh tightly stretched over a length of line or hose.  It is not water resistant, but has good resistance to abrasion.  It offers superior flexibility and is very lightweight.  This sleeve is NOT recommended for outdoor applications or high humidity areas.

Hoses and lines of this type typically have rigid potted end treatments unless otherwise specified.

MEDIUM DUTY refers to an elaborate flexible PVC hose slid over the line or hose. It has very good resistance to crushing and UV exposure.  It is highly water-resistant and suitable for direct burial in some cases.  It offers very good resistance to abrasion and is resistant to a wide variety of acids and corrosives.  Flexibility is somewhat limited on these hoses in comparison to others in our product line.

Hoses and lines of this type typically have rigid potted end treatments unless otherwise specified.

HEAVY DUTY refers to lines sleeved in flexible aluminum conduit, commonly known by the trade name Greenfield.  Flexing is somewhat limited but this does offer a very high level of durability and resistance to external heat.

Hoses and lines of this type typically have rigid potted end treatments unless otherwise specified.

ULTRA-FLEX refers to our most flexible heated line.  Its external sleeve is a polyester mesh, and it has the tightest bend radius offered (2" radius in 1/4" TeflonŽ).  All lines of this type feature our "Recoreable" option as a standard with no additional charges.  Click Here for Options  The outside diameter of these lines is the smallest in our product line.

These lines generally feature heavy duty, adhesive-lined, heat shrink end treatments for minimal diameter and maximum durability.

POLY-FLEX refers to a watertight, highly flexible CPVC hose slid over the sample line or hose.  It offers many of the benefits of our MEDIUM DUTY sleeve with a decrease in weight and a tighter bend radius.  It features good resistance to corrosives and UV, and has good crush resistance.

Hoses and lines of this type typically have rigid potted end treatments unless otherwise specified.

SUPER-DUTY lines and hoses are sleeved in rigid steel or aluminum conduit.  This is the preferred sleeve for CLASS 1 DIVISIONS 1 & 2 areas.  Please consult the Engineering or Sales Dept. at UHPI for specifics on this.

SEAL-TITEŽ sleeving is used in applications where lines may be run in hazardous, extremely wet, or rough conditions.  Short sections may be run under water and, in some cases, areas where a CLASS 1 DIVISION 2 rating exists.  Please consult the Engineering or Sales Dept. at UHPI for specifics on this.

SIL refers to a fiberglass-impregnated orange silicone rubber sleeve slid over the line or hose.  This material is best suited for very high heat areas or conditions where the line may contact hot pipes or other hot surfaces.  It offers very good flexibility but only moderate abrasion resistance.

Molten metals may contact this sleeve momentarily without harm to the sleeve or line.

These lines have metallic and potted end treatments unless otherwise specified.

Other options and custom sleeves are available from UHPI.  Please contact our office for additional information.
