Heated Pumps
Our Heated Head Pumps have an excellent track record for longevity and ease of use. You'll find UHPI heated pumps in Dynamometer Labs and Engine Test Cells throughout North America and the World. We count virtually all of the world's major auto and diesel manufacturers as our valued clients.
Our pumps also have applications in CEM. They have been used for HC, NOX, HCL, and a variety of VOCs and other constituents. Our products may be found in incinerators. co-generation plants, waste-water treatment plants and the like from California to New York and beyond.
Pump Exteriors & Construction
All of our heated sample pumps are manufactured with the utmost in quality. We use a proprietary heating element and superior insulations to maintain a very high degree of thermal accuracy across the entire sample path. This also makes for an even, gentle heat and a very high degree of thermal stability in all of our products.
We also offer a several accessories to remedy the problems associated with cold junctions and the like. Please click here for solutions to these difficult problems.
All of our pumps feature a combination of PVC and High Temperature Epoxy outside surfaces. This makes for a durable outside surface that also protects the operator from burns and shock.
All UHPI heated head pumps allow easy access to the pump head mounting bolts. This allows the end-user to re-torque the head once it has reached its maximum operating temperature, if needed, to eliminate any leaks that may have been caused by thermal expansion. (A UHPI exclusive!)
All of our pumps are designed for total ease of maintenance. Heads may be removed and repaired with virtually no more work than if they were un-heated!
All UHPI heated head pumps are available with your choice of heater and pump voltages, temperature ranges, type and size of ports, temperature sensors, and a host of other options. For a complete list of these options; please

Unit may be ran with both heads in parallel or series to increase flow rate or total vacuum if needed. Head streams do not cross so two individual sample streams may be ran with this pump.
UHPI heated pump motors may be designed to work on 120 VAC 60 Hz, and 240 VAC 60 Hz. Other voltages are available. Please contact the factory if you need a voltage not specified here.
SENSORS AND CONTROLLERS
UHPI's heated products utilize a temperature control device to maintain the proper temperature. In some cases this may take the form of an internal thermal switch for low-resolution products, but, more often, will be an external temperature controller. Using external controllers insures that the device may hold a tight temperature range and react quickly to changes in internal media or external conditions.
A sensor built into the heated device send a signal to the controller which, in turn, regulates the device. The type of sensor dictates the controller used. Please make a determination as to the type of sensor needed before placing your order. We typically offer J, K, S & T type thermocouples, PT100 and PT1000 DIN Curve RTDs and devices that are self-limiting with thermostats. All UHPI heated devices will come with either a two thermocouples or RTDs, one for primary control and one as a spare or as an additional monitor.
